Between wrapping up #LIS’18 and all the great contacts and connections we made there, to following the Protechting bootcamp week, we’ve been pretty much on ’sprint mode' for the past 2 weeks. Still, we all deserve some time to time to think things through, wouldn’t you agree?    When we started looking at Education as a strategic area for Beta-i, it was because we do believe that, in order to better understand the ever shifting world around us, we need better tools. We all see and decode the world as it is today, but what about tomorrow? That’s the main question SingularityU Portugal Summit Cascais (that will take place on October 8 and 9), is focused on. Singularity, the university that educates, inspires and empowers leaders to apply exponential technologies to address humanity’s grand challenges, is coming to Portugal, precisely to debate and create this near future.   Beta-i, Cascais Municipality, and Nova SBE are organizing this prestigious event, with the close support of founding partners Ageas, Galp and Semapa. After all, and borrowing the words of Peter Diamandis, Executive Chairman & Co-Founder of Singularity University, “your mindset is your biggest weapon, technology can take things that are scarce and make them abundant”.   In the same note, one final reference: the Rock in Rio Innovation Week kicked off yesterday, and will last until June, 29. Beta-i is a proud innovation partner, and if you want to join entrepreneurs, artists, startups and freelancers, that’s the place to be these days. Conferência “National Agencies at the forefront of a new model for innovation support in the EU – The funders’ perspective”   Decorreu no passado dia 30 de maio no Luxemburgo, nas instalações do Banco Europeu de Investimento (BEI), a conferência “National Agencies at the forefront of a new model for innovation support in the EU – The funders’ perspective”, coorganizada pela Agência de Inovação luxemburguesa - LuxInnovation e pelo BEI.  O evento contou com cerca de 80 participantes de várias instituições europeias de financiamento e teve como principal objetivo auscultar todos os atores relativamente ao papel desempenhado pelas agências de inovação, bem como evolução das suas responsabilidades e competências futuras.  A ANI participou enquanto moderadora no Painel V – “Key Findings”.   Mais informações ANI coorganizou a sessão de trabalho “Designing the Innovation agencies of the future”   A ANI coorganizou, juntamente com a NESTA – Fundação Global para a Inovação, a sessão de trabalho “Designing the innovation agencies of the future” inserida na conferência anual de 2018 do Innovation Growth Lab (IGL). Este momento decorreu na Harvard Business School, em Boston, no passado dia 14 de junho e contou com cerca de 30 participantes de várias instituições de todo o mundo dedicadas à promoção da inovação, da economia e do desenvolvimento. Esta reunião permitiu validar a nível internacional os pressupostos da task force “SoftPower”, debatendo-se também temas relacionados com as responsabilidades que as agências de inovação deverão adotar no futuro, bem como as competências de que estas se deverão revestir. Este projeto demonstrador foi apoiado pela ANI através do Sistema de Incentivos à I&DT Empresarial – Projetos Demonstradores Individuais e cofinanciado pelo Fundo Europeu de Desenvolvimento Regional (FEDER) através do PO Centro.
