Beta-i newsletter - Startups and constests and other workshops and materclasses

A wild thought occurred to our minds at Beta-i...
With the Web Summit being so close, bringing thousands of investors to Lisbon, and with so many founders struggling with fundraising, we have decided to do something about it. Alright, so, here's the plan:
We have invited Carlos Espinal, Partner at Seedcamp, considered by Wired as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Europe, to give a Masterclass on fundraising this October 27th.

And guess what? This Masterclass will be for free! Together with Seedcamp we will be granting free access to this hands-on workshop to 60 participants. All you gotta do is apply, until October 24th, and we’ll then select the top participants.

On a different note, we’ll be having the Smart Open Lisboa Demo Day, where ambitious and creative projects to improve the city of Lisbon will be introduced to the world. Joins us, on October 28th, just register here.
Still related to the Web Summit, we’ll be showing the Lisbon startup scene to entrepreneurs, investors and tech enthusiasts from all over the world, at the Lisbon Startup Tour. Save your spot right here or invite your friends who are coming to Lisbon during that week.
We'll also be having the Web Summit Bootcamp this weekend to prepare the founders who are attending this world known event. Check out the experts we're bringing to Lisbon for the bootcamp and which topics we will cover, in this blogpost.
Talking about what we’ve been up for the past few weeks, I’m especially proud to say that Pixels Camp, Europe’s largest hackathon that we co-organised with Bright Pixel, was a huge success. If you missed it subscribe to the youtube channel and see all the talks and activities (small word of advise: make sure you see the Sumo Fight, particularly Celso Martinho, ‘fighting’ against Ricardo Marvão).
Last but not least, we would like to congratulate our friends and partners from MLGTS for being on the Most Innovative Lawyers list of the Financial Times. Hats off to Luís Roquette Geraldes, the one who launched Team Genesis, to legally support tech startups in their early stages. Thank you for all your support.

From the one and only Almighty Duchess of Content who almost tripped over a tiny tiny puppy that we now have at the office called Amêndoa. I must say that for a brief moment there I wished I could pull a ‘honey, I shrunk the kids’ kind of trick on my own dog… but, he instantly refused.
