“New Energy Challenge calls for future energy solutions.”
The second edition of the European-wide New Energy Challenge is
a tough competition that raises the bar and calls for the best,
possibly game-changing solutions of early stage startups active in
energy transition.
The question is:
how will this transition unfold?
Our industry could play a crucial role in powering this progress. What we need to do in this century — and sooner rather than later — is to accelerate new business models and enable new innovative technologies. Integrated energy solutions that are effective. That are profitable. And that are scalable, preferably globally.
The New Energy Challenge 2017 raises the bar and calls for the best, possibly game-changing solutions of startups to come forward and work with us. We are strong believers of cooperation when aiming for a fully functioning zero-carbon energy system over time, because we can only succeed when working together.
During this ‘Raise The Bar Week’ the 20 finalists are given inspirational coaching and valuable advice from world-leading experts for a validation of their business proposals from different perspectives. Furthermore, the finalists get the unique opportunity to meet with other inspiring startups and scale-ups, and experience intensive training from the partners involved in the New Energy Challenge.
On Finals Day — 28 September — the top-10 finalists will be doing their final pitch before the jury — who will then decide the Winner o the New Energy Challenge 2017.
The New Energy Challenge 2017 calls for entry from 7 June 2017.

Why
Over the coming decades, the world will need much more energy to meet growing demand to enable a decent quality of life for people across the world. But this is only one part of the story. We also need to produce all that energy while emitting much less CO2. That is the challenge we have to meet — as a society. As science. As companies and as consumers. This is the key driver behind the energy transition. The question is:
