How do you like your cities?
You don’t need to know how to answer that, I was just curious. But if you already know you like them tall and smart, then here’s where you should move to:
Singapore.
For the second year in a row, the IMD Smart City Index 2020 has placed Singapore at the very top of the ranking, followed by Helsinki and Zurich, concerning the cities’ smartness.
According to the Institute for Management Development, hundreds of citizens from 109 cities were inquired about the technological offer of their city regarding health and safety, mobility, activities, opportunities and governance.
One extra reason for the smartest in class to be the host of the third and last module of this year’s Free Electrons: the last digital destination of 2020, hosted by SP Group.
Reaching this module means that Free Electrons continuously impacts the energy sector, as well as the utilities and startups that take part in it. That is why, in this module, the program has invited venture capitals, corporations, academia and NGO’s, opening doors to the energy ecosystem. The grand finale will be live, this Thursday, at 6:45 AM (GMT+1) and you can follow it.
To reach this stage is also to be aware of how many challenges were surpassed in a year like 2020, showing that innovation is always possible - when we could not travel, we went digital. And results were accomplished: 50M value generated over 4 years and more than 350K in pilots for this year alone - and it's only starting!
Now, looking ahead. 2021 we see you, and Free Electrons too: startups can already pre-register, if they’re smart.
I wish you a fully energized week,
Cristina
