️ With arms wide open to the worldLast week was marked by Paddy's decision to go ahead with the Web Summit in a fully digital mode. Although predictable, the decision confirmed that we need to be prepared to make the best out of the Web Summit, now by digital means.
But if anyone thought a pandemic could stop entrepreneurs from looking to Lisbon as their epicentre for entrepreneurship, it is now clear that this is not true: the last edition of Launch In Lisbon, our programme for foreign entrepreneurs who want to settle in Portugal, was the most crowded ever, breaking the record of applications. The next edition is just around the corner - and registrations end on October 20th.
It will be the 2nd digital edition of the programme (the 10th since it started) and it will take place on the 28th, 29th and 30th of October and which counts with our partners Lisbon Tech Guide, Moss&Cooper, PLMJ and PwC. With them, participants will learn the essential steps to establish their business in Lisbon, in just three days and in a time-zone friendly schedule, giving them access to relevant partners and other entrepreneurs. Do you know anyone who is considering coming to Portugal to develop a project? Give them this information or share this link.
It was through Launch In Lisbon that Thiago Chaer from Future Education, one of our new startups, arrived at Startup Lisboa. Thiago came from Brazil, and there are many more nationalities in the group of brilliant entrepreneurs who are now part of the family: from Germany to India to the United States - you can meet them all below.
At Startup Lisboa, we are open to the world - from digital to face-to-face, what matters is that we don’t stop preparing our future! |

Entrepreneurial women help transform Lisbon into a city more committed to the environment and to people. The Women4Climate Lisboa acceleration and capacitation programme is underway, and it was in this context that we organised, along with the Lisbon City Council and Casa do Impacto, an event to discuss the mechanisms and tools we can use to make cities more committed not only to the environment but also to people. The conversation started with the stories of the finalists of the programme and their projects, and we were also able to talk to inspiring founders who now work in businesses with purpose.
