Dear developerWorks community member,
Last year over 60,000 developers from around the world (some of whom might have been you!) joined Koding to hack together and win over $35,000 USD in prizes. This year, once again Koding along with IBM, is breaking the link between hackathons and their physical location requirements. The new location for our hackathon is simple: wherever your favorite spot to code is.
The following themes have been selected for the Koding and IBM Global Virtual Hackathon 2015:
- Data Visualizations (Geographic, Financial, HealthCare, Government, etc.)
- Productivity (Enterprise, Personal, Team, Community, etc.)
- Games (Educational, HTML5, etc.)
Your task is to use publicly available resources (APIs, data sets, graphics, etc.) and your imagination to create a project that addresses one of the themes of the event.
When we started to plan out this year’s Hackathon, we wanted to ensure that the prize money would be meaningful to the winners. First prize winner gets $100,000 USD! That's seed money for your startup idea!
