Lisbon's tech community is getting out there (the new open data platform is going to shake things up), Portugal is on the map for its startup scene (the Portuguese Startup Manifesto will definitely emphasise it), the European startup scene is growing, and 2016 is just getting started.

PORTUGUESE STARTUP MANIFESTO: JOIN THE MOVEMENT

The Portuguese startup scene is on the map and this manifesto will take it even further.

Join this movement by sharing your ideas for the manifesto, that will be presented at the European Commission, using the hashtag #PTstartupmanifesto.

LISBOA ABERTA / OPEN LISBOA: AN INNOVATION LAB IN LISBON


The Municipality of Lisbon has just launched their new open data platform for the city of Lisbon, that is now available online, for anyone to access.

With this in mind, the Municipality of Lisbon, together with Beta-i and Portugal Telecom, will launch a program, with 10 startups, that wants to transform Lisbon into an Open Innovation Lab, using the data provided in the open data platform.

PROTECHTING IS KICKING-OFF WITH 20 STARTUPS 


Protechting by Fidelidade & Fosun, the accelerator that wants to help bold entrepreneurs who want to change the world by protecting others, is starting its Bootcamp next week.

Meet the 20 selected startups that will join the Bootcamp, for an intensive week of workshops and mentoring. After this first week, we'll choose the 15 finalists that will join the program. 


DEVELOP YOUR OWN STARTUP PART-TIME WITH BETA-I


For those who have a business idea but can't yet do it full-time, we want to help you get it off the paper and make it happen. Many great companies started off as side-projects, right?

Let us know here if you want to join one of pre-accelerators, only part-time.

FEB-17 PORTUGUESE STARTUP MANIFESTO IN PORTO


If you're in Porto and want to know more about the Portuguese Startup Manifesto and also share your ideas, join us at UPTEC next Wednesday.

We'll have a collaborative session to gather all your thoughts and ideas, that will later shape the real Manifesto, which will be presented to the European Commission in June.
