Beta-i Newsletter - Lisbon Investment Summit 2017

I believe I was cursed. This past weekend I was back in Porto with my family but, I terribly missed my longtime tradition of eating a ‘francesinha’ (a typical dish from Porto that's shown in the picture below), and I always do.
Now, I can’t stop sneezing, I’m half deaf from one ear, and when I got home last night the power was out.

Hopefully, my colleagues from Beta-i, Mafalda, and Scarlet who were in Porto for the Beta-i Roadshow this morning, haven’t made the same mistake. They’re probably back on the road now heading to Startup Braga, as we speak.

Back in Lisbon, we have great news for you. We’ve just launched a new type of events that will blow your mind. ‘The Future Is’ will be a set of events that will happen throughout the year focused on specific topics or industries. The first one, on corporate innovation, is already on March 21st and it will bring to Lisbon Viki Tendayi, an expert on corporate innovation and author of “The Corporate Startup” and “The Lean Product Lifecycle”. If you want to attend 'The Future Is Innovation' request an invite right here.

Still, on events, the early bird tickets for the Lisbon Investment Summit 2017 have sold out. So, if you want to meet the founder of Eventbrite, the investors of Slack, Facebook, Skype, or Farfetch, register here.

But, before the Lisbon Investment Summit happens this June, you’ll get to meet 20 top European VCs in Lisbon. Where? At the Caixa Empreender Award on March 16th. Register here and join us.

On acceleration, we have open applications for Protechting, the accelerator by Fidelidade and Fosun. If you’re interested in taking your startup on a roadshow to China to meet with the key players from your industry, take a look at this.

Oh and just another reminder. Applications for Free Electrons, the global energy accelerator that will take startups to Dublin, Lisbon, Silicon Valley and Singapore, are about to close - if you’re interested, apply here.

Have a great week.

Cheers,
Maria
