Holloween.

We have our face masks on already, so that part of Halloween is solved.  As for the rest of it, I assume it’s going to be a bit different and more hollow this year: in-house trick or treating, horror movies, zoom parties (if you need a zoom background for your virtual halloween costume, there are several options out there).  More time to carve jack-o-lanterns, less chances to visit haunted houses and collect sweets.  This halloween is not less spooky, though. I don’t even live in the US, but I’m biting my nails in horror waiting for next week’s big event. Could it be happening in a more appropriate time of the year?  At least from our side at Beta-i we are treating ourselves this halloween by taking a deep breath after these very busy weeks. And to prepare our next projects: we are carving a few novelties for this Autumn.  You know I’ll keep you posted - but you can always follow our open calls’ section right in our website.  In the meantime, keep safe. On November 12, Rosa Jiménez Cano (Chief Ecosystem Relations at The Venture City) will be interviewing John Graham-Cumming (CTO at Cloudfare) and you can register for free.  OPEN CALLS Ocean Solutions Sprint You can still apply for the second ocean sprint designed to help our ocean. Eligible applicants include investing in nature-based solutions, restorative aquaculture, protecting and restoring coral reefs and technology supporting Marine Protected Areas. Applications are open until October 31 and the selected solutions will be announced right in December.
