easing into autumn Hey, y’all! We hope you managed to take some time to decompress and recharge your batteries! Keep on reading to catch up on the biggest updates in the Estonian startup ecosystem and get an extra energy boost for the beginning of autumn! For starters, let's go over the most startup-minded business festival that just took place and transformed Tartu into a mecca of entrepreneurship for the whole 3 days. sTARTUp Day 2021 brought together over 4000 visitors and 100+ world-class speakers to celebrate its 5th anniversary and was outstanding as usual with a positive atmosphere for networking and fantastic startup pitches! As part of sTARTUp Day, Startup Estonia held a bunch of empowering and vibrant events to liven up the festival. Take a look at the highlights of Global Founders in Estonia meetup Vol. 14 and Startup Community Meetup that already became traditional. It also happened to be the last community meetup hosted by incredible Liisi Org as a startup community development manager. She's been relentlessly supercharging the startup ecosystem for the past 2.5 years and has done tremendous work for the local startup community during this time! From the 7th of September, the new startup community development manager will be Sandra Saarniit. We also finally released a much-anticipated half-year report on the Estonian Startup Ecosystem! In other news, World Summit Awards (WSA) has an open call for Estonian startups. We're going to share more details shortly, but in the meantime, you can still get acquainted with their submission guide. The last couple of months were also prolific in terms of investments. In August, ride-hailing unicorn company Bolt has raised massive €600M funding round, increasing its valuation to more than €4B to boost its new grocery delivery service. As for July, Single.Earth, a platform that tokenizes nature for its ecological value, has secured €6,6M in capital through a seed funding round. In addition, both white-label SaaS shipping startup Outvio and Tallinn-based ‘one-stop-shop’ for online businesses Montonio have landed €2,5M each. It's also worth noting investments received by Eurora, Bisly, Remato, Fusebox, Postoplan, and Income. May the autumn be filled with great achievements, meeting interesting people, and a series of long-awaited winning streaks! Team Startup Estonia |
