Startup Pirates!!! In near cities

2015 has been a busy year at the Startup Pirates HQ. In this past three months, our ship already moored in Maastricht (Netherlands), Budapest (Hungary) and Sertã (Portugal). And over the next months, we’ll set sails for more cities in Portugal, Brazil, Nigeria, Tunisia, Pakistan, Spain, among others. See what we've planned for the next months. Isabel, participant from our very first Startup Pirates program, and Pedro, were organizers from the first edition of Startup Pirates @ Lisboa. They moved to the US and decided to put together a Startup Pirates @ Atlanta, our first edition in the country. Like we always say, “Once a Pirate, always a Pirate!” Over the years, we've been very lucky with the Startup Pirates Organizers that we have found. From students to sucessfull entrepreneurs, our organizers have different backgrounds and goals, but all share the same values and passion for their own startup communities. We are always looking for rebelious Pirates like Isabel, Pedro, Ana, Zoltan, Yossi, Varun, Danilo or AmirReza, to name a few! ON STARTUPS Portuguese startup Farfetch gets valuation of $1 Billion  Portugal has its 1st startup unicorn. Farfetch, the fashion marketplace born in Oporto, has raised $86 million and got a valuation of $1 Billion. Read all about it!   Tradiio launches new version for their online music platform Tradiio, the online game that lets you discover new artists, has launched a new version for their platform and mobile apps. They are all over the news and they even got featured on The Next Web.     Portuguese startup Hokolinks joins Seedcamp Hoko Links, a platform for mobile app connection and interaction built by Faber Ventures, got into Seedcamp. Mobile is indeed eating the world... Goosit launches their Android app  The backpackers' planning platform, Goosit, who has been through Lisbon Challenge, has just launched their android app. They've been getting great reviews so far. Mint Labs launches new website  Mint Labs, a platform to analyse medical data, has just launched their new website. Take a look.  Amazers releases new social features  After launching its challenges-platform, Amazers has now released new social features allowing its community to connect and engage in different ways. Check it out! EVENTS Mar 11: Futurália   We're joining the European Commission at Futurália next week to bring entrepreneurship closer to younger students. We'll have inspiring entrepreneurs as speakers to share their own stories about how to start a business.  Mar 13-17: SXSW  The world's most important conference on creativity and innovation, SXSW, is taking place in the US and the Portuguese startup scene will be well represented by having its own discussion panel.  Mar 16-20: CeBit This is a top tech conference taking place in Munich, Germany. Edward Snowden, for example, will be interviewed at CeBit and we have free tickets to give - tweet by using the hashtag #LisbonChallengeRocks and get a chance to win.  Mar 24: Ativar Portugal  Organised by Microsoft, Ativar Portugal, is an event that brings together a new generation of entrepreneurs and innovative technologies in order to build a stronger startup ecosystem in Portugal.
