EDP Open Innovation is an acceleration program for development of new business projects focused on technological innovation or business model innovation in the area of clean technologies in the energy sector.

  In partnership with Expresso, this program results from the alliance between Energia de Portugal and the EDP Innovation Awards (both running in Portugal and Brazil).

 Leveraging in this cross-border experience, this year it is time to open applications worldwide, with a selected jury from three EDP’s key geographies – Portugal, Spain and Brazil

Now it's time for energy and clean-tech startups to have their opportunity. EDP Open Innovation is back with the 2017 edition!  EDP Open Innovation will take tech and energy startups from the early stage to a business in just 3 weeks. During the program, the startups will learn and apply the Lean Startup methodology through 9 bootcamps that will guide them step by step in validation of their startup’s business model.  The program will be held in Lisbon during the month of October 2017 with space for 15 of the top worldwide startups.   Startups that graduate from EDP Open Innovation will have completed extensive customer validation activities and leave with a tested business model they can confidently launch into the real market and pitch to potential investors.  For the foreign startups accepted in the program, flight and accommodation expenses will be offered.  The winner will receive €50.000 and incubation at EDP Starter and the 3 best teams will also showcase their projects at the WebSummit 2017!
