The new location for our hackathon is simple: wherever your favorite spot to code is. The following themes have been selected for the Koding and IBM Global Virtual Hackathon 2015: Data Visualizations (Geographic, Financial, HealthCare, Government, etc.) Productivity (Enterprise, Personal, Team, Community, etc.) Games (Educational, HTML5, etc.) Your task is to use publicly available resources (APIs, data sets, graphics, etc.) and your imagination to create a project that addresses one of the themes of the event. When we started to plan out this year’s Hackathon, we wanted to ensure that the prize money would be meaningful to the winners. First prize winner gets $100,000 USD! This session gathered the main players from this growing industry and talked about how Protechting aims to support startups who are working on helping and protecting others. Applications close on November 26th. Investors Day at Lisbon Challenge tomorrow As Lisbon Challenge gets close to the end, it's time to talk about investment. So, with this in mind, we'll be having our Investors Day tomorrow where the startups will pitch to top investors in Portugal and get all the feedback. Follow our Facebook and Twitter to keep yourself updated.    International Dinner with startups at Beta-i Last Friday, for the first time in our new building, we had an international dinner with all the startups from our accelerators cooking their national dishes. As it turns out, some of the entrepreneurs in the building are really good cooks.

From our startups... Seeusoon featured on Techcrunch Seeusoon, a startup from Lisbon Challenge that later this year joined Startup Bootcamp in Berlin, has recently been featured on Techcrunch. Find out what happened since they left Lisbon Challenge in this blogpost.  Uniplaces raised 24 million in Series A Uniplaces, the student accommodation platform and Lisbon Challenge alumni, has raised one of the biggest Series A in Europe. This round was led by Atomico but it included previous investors such as Caixa Capital. Read all about it here.  Poshpacker gets into Techstars Poshpacker, our alumni from Lisbon Challenge, have just been accepted into Techstars METRO. They have built a platform that allows travellers to book creative hostels, hotels and apartments around the world. Check it out.  Knok launches crowdfunding campaign  Knok, that is part of the current batch of Lisbon Challenge, wants to disrupt the healthcare industry by allowing their mobile app users to easily book a doctor's appointment in the comfort of their home. They have just launched a crowdfunding campaign for their marketing budget. Contribute here for the cause.    Standard Access is Startup of the Year   Standard Access, that is currently on Deloitte Digital Disruptors, was considered the Tech Startup of the Year in Ireland. Prémios PlayStation chegaram a Portugal

A nova iniciativa da Sony da a oportunidade de publicar o vosso jogo na PS4.

A Sony anunciou uma nova iniciativa dedicada a todos os programadores portugueses.

 Depois de uma edição de sucesso em Espanha, que aconteceu durante o ano passado e contou com mais de 100 projetos apresentados, os Prémios PlayStation chegam a Portugal para dar aos produtores a possibilidade de editarem os seus projetos na PS4.

A iniciativa foi anunciada durante a Lisboa Games Week e está aberta a pequenos estúdios, estudantes universitários, jovens programadores portugueses e empresas portuguesas que tenham aturado menos de 100 mil euros em 2014.

Se têm o vosso próprio estúdio independente e estão a pensar em participar, vão precisar de ter uma equipa com pelo menos três membros fundamentais: game designer, programador e artista (terão de enviar o vosso currículo para comprovar a vossa função).

Se forem a equipa vencedora, a Sony oferece-vos 10 mil euros; um kit de desenvolvimento para a PS4; a possibilidade de publicarem o vosso projeto na consola da geração atual; uma campanha de promoção e marketing no valor de 50 mil euros; e um espaço físico em Lisboa para trabalharem no vosso jogo durante 10 meses.

Vão conseguir enviar os vossos projetos até ao dia 5 de dezembro e podem visitar o site oficial dos Prémios PlayStation para garantirem a vossa participação. No dia 8 de dezembro, a Sony anunciará os projetos eleitos para a próxima fase da competição, com o grande vencedor a ser revelado antes do final de dezembro.
